God is Truth!
Story: Exodus 32:1-29

Bible Verse: “Jesus said, I am the way and the truth.” John 14:6

Prayer: Dear Jesus, I am so glad everything about You is good and true. Help me to learn Your ways so that I can know what is right. Amen

Moses was up on the mountain and the Israelites were camped in tents down at the base of the mountain. Moses had been up there a long time. They started to worry. They started to panic. They told Aaron that they should do something….Moses was probably not coming back."Worshiping the golden calf" by the Providence Lithograph Company - http://clipart.christiansunite.com/1246444861/Old_Testament_Clipart/Old_Testament009.jpg. In Exodus 32, we read about Moses and how angry he was when he looked down the mountain and saw the people of Israel celebrating with food and drink, singing and dancing, around an idol that they had made! How quickly they forgot…the God they were following.

The lesson today was about TRUTH. We understand that God is true; idols are not. God asks for us to make him #1 in our hearts and in our lives. We understand that Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. He is all we need.

Dear Parents,
Anything that can distract you from God has the potential to become an “idol” in your life. Think of two things that can distract you personally from God’s truth. Write a prayer to God to help you stay true to Him and pray that prayer each morning as you get ready this week.

Birth – Age 2
Read Bible stories to your children daily. It’s our responsibility to help our children learn truths about God!

Age 3 – Kindergarten
When you’re driving in the car or eating dinner together this week, take turns telling each other things that are true about God (God loves me, God made me, God made animals, God is everywhere, We can talk to God anytime, anywhere, etc.) You’ll be surprised where these “God” conversations will lead!
