Trusting Your Guide
Word of the Week: Trust
Bible Verse: Trust in the Lord with all your heart. Proverbs 3:5a
Story: Peter Walks on Water (Matthew 14:22-32)
Prayer: Lord, I pray that I will put my trust in You daily because I know You can help me. I want to come to You first when I need help. Remind me to stop and pray to You when I don’t know what to do. Thank You for loving me. Amen
Parents: Start a prayer journal (personally or with your family). Write down your prayer requests then record when a prayer is answered. Be encouraged that we can trust God for every detail!
Toddlers: Take out your child’s baby book or some baby pictures. As you show them pictures, talk about how you took care of them when they were a baby. Tell them that God gave them to you as a gift and that you love them. Also tell them you will always love and take care of them because they are your child.
Age 3 – Kindergarten: Play a game with your child to teach them what the word “trust” means. Tell them that they will have to trust you to play the game, then ask them to close their eyes tightly and lead them around the house carefully. Instruct them when they need to step over something, turn or walk up steps. When you have finished, have them to open their eyes to see where they ended up. Explain that they had to listen to you and to trust you to get to the new place without looking. God wants us to trust Him also, even when we can’t see Him.
