Bible Verse:  “To love God means we obey Him.”  1 John 5:3

Story:  Adam & Eve (Genesis 3:1-24)

Prayer:  Dear God, I am glad that You have given me the freedom to make my own choices.  Please help me to know right from wrong and choose to do those things that are right.  This week, give me a desire to obey You by listening to my parents and obeying them.  Amen

“Take-It-Home” Activities:

Parents:  Is there something God has been asking you to do?  Be an example for your family and obey Him today!

Birth – Age 2:  It can be challenging to notice when your child is making the right choice.  The wrong choices seem to get our attention much more quickly. This week, make an effort to notice all the right choices that are made and praise your child for them.  It may be as simple as getting in the car seat, sitting at the dinner table, holding your hand while crossing the street, or sitting in the grocery cart nicely.  Encourage your child with words, hugs, smiles, and high fives!

Age 3 – Kindergarten:  Play Simon Says together this week.  Talk about how hard it can be to listen and do what Simon says.  Remind your children that obeying what God asks us to do is the most important choice we can make each day!

Recipe to Make at Home:

Each week during this series we will be looking at a “recipe for our life” from God’s own recipe book, the Bible, and pairing it with a common food we often eat.  This week we paired apples with the word OBEY, so every time your child eats an apple, you can remind them that God wants them to OBEY!

Here are a couple of fun apple recipes for you to try with your little chefs at home!
