Word of the Week:  SHARE

Recipe We Made in Class:  Trail Mix to Share!

Bible Verse:  “Share what you have with others.”  Romans 12:13

Story:  Joseph (Genesis 47:11-13)

Prayer:  Dear God, Thank You for all the food that You provide for me and my family.  I am so glad that I never have to go hungry.  Help me to have a kind and caring heart so that I can share with others.  Amen

“Take-It-Home” Activities:

Parents:  What is God asking you to share?  Time?  Money?  Faith?  Friendship?  Belongings?  Talents?  Ask Him this week and then be willing to obey!

Birth – Age 2:  Talk with your child often about sharing.  Whether it be with family members, or others, remind them that “we share in our family.”  Purposefully give them opportunities to share with siblings or other children (split a snack, share a toy, take turns, etc.)

Age 3 – Kindergarten:  Make a meal or bake a special treat and take it to someone who has a need, an elderly person, a new neighbor, someone who has a new baby or someone who has been ill.  While you are baking together, talk with your child about sharing with others.  The recipes below would be perfect for sharing!

Recipe to Make at Home:

Each week during this series we will be looking at a “recipe for our life” from God’s own recipe book, the Bible, and pairing it with a common food we often eat.  This week we paired pretzels with the word SHARE, so every time your child eats a pretzels, you can remind them that God wants us to share with others!

Here are two fun (who doesn’t love smashing cookies in a bag?!), simple (just a few ingredients!) recipes using pretzels for you to try with your little chefs at home!

We’d love to see pictures of you and your child in your kitchen on our facebook page.

Happy Baking!
