Sailing the “C’s”
“C” of the Week: Compassion
Lesson: Be Kind!
Bible Verse: “Be kind to one another.” Ephesians 4:32
Story: Ruth 1:1 – 4:22
Prayer: Dear Jesus, help me show kindness at all times and treat others the way I would like to be treated. Thank You so much for forgiving me when I make wrong choices. Help me forgive others when they hurt or wrong me so I can be an example of You. Amen
Parents: The best way to teach your child to be kind is to model kindness to others. The next time you are in public, look for ways to show kindness to others; hold a door open for someone, offer to return someone’s grocery cart, purchase a little surprise for a friend and deliver it, allow someone to go ahead of you in the grocery line…
Birth – Age 2: Young children need to experience kindness before they will know how to share kindness. As you play with your child, use phrases such as “May I have a turn?” and “Would you like a turn?” Also, practice your “please” and “thank you!”
Age 3 – Kindergarten: Take some time this week to make cookies with your child. Then allow your child to choose who they would like to give them to (neighbor, friend, teacher, etc.).
We made bird feeders in class today and would love to see pictures of your kids hanging them at your home. You can share your pictures on our Bright Beginnings facebook page!
